Team GB flex their muscles in the cycling and rowing once again

It was another memorable night for Team GB over at Rio, as Bradley Wiggins won Gold again and cemented his place as the most successful Brit in Olympic history. Wiggins, has 8 medals, which go back to Athens 2004, and has been an ever present in British Cycling since then. After breaking a World Record in the heats, Wiggins, Clancy, Doull and Burke beat Australia by just a second to take the Gold in the men's pursuit. Team GB won 5 medals last year, with 4 being Gold and being Bronze., there are still 4 more races including the women's pursuit to race today. It was also the second Gold for Team GB in 2 days, as Kenny, Hindes and Skinner took Gold on Thursday night in the men's sprint finals.

Another sport that Team GB have shown dominance is rowing, and yesterday saw the men 4's final of Gregory, Nash, Luoloudis and Sbihi won Gold in a epic battle yesterday, It was the 5th straight Gold in this race for Team GB. This was a day after the pair of Glover and Stanning win Gold in the women's pair final. It was a Silver for Grainger and Thorney yesterday too, as they came second in the women's double sculls to round off a successful few days in rowing.

With all these medals, it has dragged Team GB to 3rd in the medal standings, sitting behind USA and China. There are certainly more medals prospects to come, with Jessica Ennis-Hill currently leading the standings in the Heptathlon.
